MaDOW

Make a Difference Out West (MaDOW) is our major mission project. Pymble Congregation has made a commitment to support a number of rural communities in NSW.
We support Enngonia Public School, 100km north of Bourke. Examples of our support to date include:

  • providing indigenous families with computers
  • raising funds for a school bus
  • supporting teachers with resources for small schools camps
  • contributing funds for preschool play equipment
  • providing a book per child per term in consultation with the teacher
  • accompanying and supporting Year 10 students from Pymble Ladies College and Knox Grammar on their service learning visit to the school.

The aim of our involvement is to support the education of the children and their families to improve their employability as they grow.

  • Griffith Women’s Refuge, with a quarterly delivery of much-needed clothes.
  • Communities that need some outside expertise to help overcome red tape or other blocks for local community initiatives.
  • Isolated communities, by providing book sets for book clubs.
We value the partnership with the Uniting Church’s Rural Chaplains, who have introduced us to these communities. You can subscribe to the Rural Chaplain’s blog to keep up to date with their activities out west.
Your support and participation is welcome.
